TODAY! was theatre of gifts outing(not exactly, because it was at Jill's HOUSE). but whatever.
we started with meeting, where we discussed everything to be discussed. from money issues, to feast day celebrations, to combined camp, to family freeze frame(families of TOG gathering). oh and I was put in charge for music. so whatever the people would be listening to for the night(besides Brian's emcee-ing), would be decided by me, with a little help from Justin.
then it was
makan time! we ate some indian food and beehoon cooked by Jill's auntie. I thought the curry would be spicy, but I tried the potato and thought it was quite okay. there was also that cracker i liked.
papadum, they call it, I think. and that pasta was quite nice too. but there was too little, when I wanted more, it was gone. oh and there were longans and grapes to top it off.
we watched two movies, Alone and Hot Fuzz. both were SUPERSUPER cool. alone was kinda scary at some parts, and the music made it even scarier. but as it was a thai show, the subtitles were kinda wrong, so we spelt a great deal laughing at it.
When Alone had finished, Jill and Beverley went to the kitchen. I wanted to get more TimeOut chocolates, and when I walked past the kitchen, I saw Beverley looking out for people passing(aha). So I just ignored it, and went back to the living room to savour my choc. Halfway through, Jill came out holding the cake, Beverley next to her, and everyone started singing the birthday song. That was quite awkward, me, paused with half-eaten chocolate in hand, speechless. But I got up, made a wish, blew the candles, and cut the (OOH!) chocolate cake. The people in Theatre of Gifts are so nice! They spent $22(i think) on a cake for me, while Reggie who recently turned EIGHTEEN only got a.. kiddy cake. Hey, if any one of you from TOG are reading this, please do not spend so much money on a cake for me in future! Haha. But that was really, really nice.
So after that, we watched Hot Fuzz. Actually, the girls went into a room to talk or something. I'm not so sure. But I stayed in the living room with the guys because I hadn't watched Hot Fuzz before. It was a real COMEDY, very funny! But there were some parts which were kinda gross. Like when the church roof came down on the news reporter guy. Oh but I felt the counterattack in the supermarket with what was left of the police officers, was COOL.
So when Hot Fuzz finished, they cleared up everything, took some "formal class" photos(no smile!) where only my sleeve could be seen, because my first row(Jared, Joel, Justin, Me) was too squeezed. Oh, there's always a next time. Brian wasn't in the photo, too, anyway, cos he had to leave early.
We walked back to Ang Mo Kio MRT Station(TOG, with the exception of me and.. was it Mel or Hyacinth? was going to The Jeweler's Shop cast party), where I walked through the underpath to AMK Hub to meet my mom, and together we went to my grandpa's house. Uncle Phey(my deceased Uncle Peter's classmate who had migrated to Australia) was coming over, so I had to miss the cast party. I didn't help out anyway, so.. oh well. But when Uncle Phey came over and started boasting about his daughters, especially one same age as me, half my size, and there was my grandma who keep singing praises of my little cousin Geraldine who hadn't arrived with her parents yet(they are always late, that family), my uncle(Geraldine's father) who kept stepping on my foot and hitting me so hard on purpose, it started to rub in REAL HARD: HOW I WISH I WAS WITH TOG!!! oh crap. what a lovely ending to a beautiful day. sigh. and Justin made it no better by saying that he was having fun there.. (remember that heehee in your reply to my sms, Justin?) sigh.
now, why didn't i choose to go for the cast party?
Oh and before I end this post, today Jill also announced to us that she will be leaving for Seattle, America in three months' time. Though I didn't do this just now, I'll say it here: ALL THE BEST TO JILL! (:
