Hello, welcome to my blog! I love what I do, who I am. And I like to make people laugh, because it makes me happy. Heehee.

This is my 450th post. My gosh.

Anyway, today was Teachers' Day Celebration cum ACES Day.
So we started off with the rope-skipping, which made me feel like I just ran the 2.4, all sticky and warm, And my hair was clumpy. Ugh.

Then was class party after that, had pizza and chips and drinks.. Oh and Daphne topped the class for Prelims.. Her level position is 40+. I'm really happy for her, cos I know she studied really really hard for this. I hope she does equally well or even better for O Levels. [:

Concert was alright, went really high cos it's like, our last Teachers' Day after 10 years? Hoo yeah. It feels rather melancholic, actually. I thought I was going to cry at the end of the concert but fortunately I didn't.

Talked to Athan for half an hour on the phone, then Louis.. About different stuff yeah. Then I randomly talked to Debra on MSN.. Gave her some (helpful, I hope) advice on poly.. If anybody requires advice or help on POLY (sorry, saya don't cover JC, too high class for me already) can ask me. Sms, email, MSN, tagboard, whatever. I'll try to help. As Sof says, I'm a walking poly guide cum Ngee Ann Ambassador. LOL.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday was total study day. Nothing much to say. LOL.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday was youth mass! The theme was HE: ART of Life.
The songs were really nice to sing to. Everyday, Give Us Clean Hands, As Bread That Is Broken, Heart of Worship and My Redeemer Lives. With God's guidiance, I didn't screw up. Haha.
Lenny agreed to teach me guitar after my O Levels. So excited! [:
Felt really great that I could use my God-given talent to serve, yet balance my schoolwork.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alright, that's about it. Oh, and today Mrs Ng told me that she checked with her old schoolmate, who was my DPA interviewer, about the outcome of my interview. She said that SP had submitted my name in too, but don't know why I only receive Ngee Ann's offer. Oh well, probably some internal mess-up. Hmmm.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

was bored and searched "emily dale pang" on google. amazing results appeared.

Facebook seems to be a tad lagging. And that sucks.

Alright, I actually came online to type out my Prelim essay, at the request of Mrs Ng.. But the plethora of websites to surf on the internet are just way too tempting! LOL.

Anyway, updates! [Am not about to go "Updates, updates, updates! like my twinnie. Whose youtube account is closed now, fyi]

Today was quite alright. Nothing interesting. After school, went to kitchen to get back F&N results. Ms Haymini took such a long time, we ended at 3.30. And Athan waited for me in the canteen since like, 1pm cos Mr Anba went for EL Oral and they were released early. Sorry again!

Athan said we were going "window shopping". When we went to Kopitiam for lunch [the fourth floor one, which was eerily quiet], he told me that he wanted to go check out the headphones we saw a couple of days ago, cos he wanted one for himself too. So I absentmindedly said, "oh, the IN crowders are chipping in to get it for my birthday."

Later when we went back after buying food, he said, "Alright, I'll tell you lah. Actually, I wanted to buy the headphones for your birthday." And I was like, "Are you serious!? That's so nice of you!" because I mean, it's like fifty plus bucks, and he wanted to pay for it himself!? It was supposed to be a surprise, and he actually wanted for buy a Mini Toons cow and put the headphones on it and give it to me. Oh well. We had a long talk till about seven? Yup.

And by the way, speaking of Mini Toons, this is a public appeal to avoid buying the first cow you see at Mini Toons for my birthday. Chances are, I will have many duplicates and have a hard time figuring out which cow was from who. Thanks!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thursday was alright too. Mass Choir practice was awesome. Went back to class for SS workshop, the teacher was friendly but the stuff was still boring. Oh well.
What was interesting, however, was what happened in the morning. As usual, I slept during the bus ride to school. So when I awoke, I was like, don't know where I was. Then I recognised the school, so I quickly stood up, carried my bag and prepared to go downstairs [double decker bus]. There was also this Sec 3 guy from HIHS preparing to alight. Who knows the bus slow down, didn't stop, then started to keep to the right. I realised no one pressed the bell. Amused, we sat down and waited till the bus reached Hougang Inter, then I walked over to school. How dumb.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wednesday was alright, again. After school, ended early so waited for athan in the canteen with Sarah and Sof. Then we went to Bedok to see Athan's favourite gun shop. Quite a cramped up place, but I like the gun models there. Really cool. I think that's all I have for Wednesday. The main point being I went to Bedok with Athan, Sarah and Sof.

I feel so small, so empty inside.

Sometimes I really wonder why I choose to hurt myself time and again.
Sarah has told me so many times, he's an asshole. I refuse to listen.
Actually sometimes I do, but I just can't let go.
Everything reminds me of him.

I think about all the laughter we've shared together, the good times we've had, it makes me feel like crying.
It's a horrible feeling, to like someone so badly that all his flaws are nothing to you.

I'm so sad. I'm not crying, but my heart is.

♥{Siying!} 9:57 PM

Alright. I haven't updated in a few days.
My tagboard is spammed.

First up, today!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SOFIA!
Looking at her enjoy herself makes me SO EXCITED for my birthday!
Anyway, today after school we went to LJS to celebrate Sof's birthday. Took many camwhore pics. SHQ sort of crashed in, and later Athan joined in.

Athan and I went to walk around Hougang Mall, then spent some time at Macs where he ate fries and Coke, which he calls "appetizer". Sheesh, guys have really big appetites.

Walked to MRT with Athan, then I went home.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday!
I visited the Singapore American School.
It was downright awesome.
Early in the morning, Ryan C came to Ang Mo Kio, then we took a cab to SAS. Reached there a tad too early, so we walked to a nearby coffeeshop and waited till around 7.30? Went in and met Jiawei, and later Heather. The SAS campus is hugeeeee.
We then met the Principal, a rather friendly guy who warmly welcomed us. Then after that we were told that we were going to have three different buddies. Ryan went with a guy called Alex, Jiawei went with Heather, and I went with a really cute Irish-Indonesian guy.

SAS uses the homeroom system, which means the students move around for their classes, instead of their teachers. As such, they have a half-hour break after each lesson. The number of students for each class is also about half of what we have in local schools.

First lesson,
Spanish.
One and a half hours of "WHAT!?" and "ler gong si mi?" got me really really confused. Fortunately, they spoke in English sometimes. Plus the teacher was rather friendly too.
Their morning announcements are reported live and broadcasted on TV, just like newscasters you see on Channel NewsAsia. Unlike the SL who stands up there every morning, reading from a book, pronouncing mass as "mehse", which in the case of Music Ministry and Chapel, I suppose it would be pronounced as "marse". I am still quite offended by that, and would suppose that just goes to show how ignorant that guy is.

Next lesson,
Psychology.
I shall be honest and admit it wasn't really to my liking. Psychology was dry and hard to absorb. But I learnt that people can see a person's behaviour by their body language and all. Also, horoscopes are spoofs.

And then it was lunch!
I wanted to buy the SAS shirt which costs $17, and that was all I had, therefore I had no money for lunch. Willow was nice and offered to pay for my lunch. Their cafeteria has two storeys, and there's Subway in there. Oh man.

After which, it was
English.
The lesson was really interesting. They learnt seven new vocab words, which are rather.. profound. They will learn twenty vocab words over a few lessons, and at the end, they have to write a creative essay using ALL the twenty words.
Prior to this lesson, they had done a mindmap on Heroes. So during this class, they discussed and exchanged ideas. Then the teacher gave them ten minutes to work in groups to coem out with three skits, "Traditional Hero", "Modern Day Hero" and "An Act of Everyday Heroism". In short, it was really fun.

Last lesson,
Choir.
Their choir is really small in numbers. Around 20-odd strength?
But the voices of the baritones are really deep, so it strikes a perfect balance between the higher, middle and lower voices. I had fun learning with them, and it made me want to join the Ngee Ann Choir. I'll see if I have the time.

Yup, then after school we went around the campus to get the shots we needed. And then it was farewell. I'll miss you, SAS!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday!
Went for 9.45am mass, then catechism class.
They tried to encourage more people to join the various church ministries.
I left early cos I had youth mass practice. Rather fruitful, I liked singing my best for God. [:
Went for lunch with Josephine, Lenny and Adrian at Junction 8 after.
Regretful that I bought KFC. It was SO FREAKING OILY. Ugh!
Youth mass this Saturday, very very excited!

Saturday!
Went with mom to Hougang Mall, cos she hasn't been there in a long time. After that, we decided to go to Suntec walk walk. The bus 107 was a Nokia CWM with special seats and all. Sounds cool? Far from it. The chairs were placed sideways, and it was so low you couldn't lean your head on the back and sleep. When we reached Millenia Walk, I had a horrible headache.
Anyway, there's this shop that sells really good chocolate. It's called Ch 'C' Late Research Facility. Not only is the layout of the shop attractive, the chocolate box covers make it irresistable and appealing. For example, I bought a box of chocolate with CHEESE flavour [and it was really good]. The chocolate box cover was printed with the cow's skin, symbolic for the cheese that came from the cow.
The chocolate is really really good, though expensive. Mmmmm.

Okay, that's all I have for now.
And I don't type nonsensical things like "I breathe in oxygen",
contradictory to what someone by the name of Athan said.
What I type is what I think is interesting.
Which, basically, is everything.

Hello.

The prelims are officially over, with my last paper, F&N today. It's a huge relief, and it's nice thinking how this is my first and last prelim. And now, for the results. (ugh)

Anyway, I'm going to Singapore American School on Monday with Ryan Chua for a reporting assignment. I must say I'm really excited! This afternoon, Heather asked me to bring someone from Choir, as that was one of their LESSONS. And I said, I'm from choir. Does that count? HAHA!

So today after F&N, I went to slack at Macs with Shirlene and Zhiqi. Then I went home to change, buy tickets for Jack Neo's Where Got Ghost?, and then I went to Hougang to meet Athan. He finished school early cos Mr Anba had to go for O Level EL Oral.

Then went back to Ang Mo Kio, to my house put down his bag, then we headed over to AMK Hub. Where Got Ghost is really a funnily scary and scarily funny show.. But we were so spooked by the show, we went to watch Up after that. How dumb. =.=

So I went home at 8+ and my mom was rather pissed.. Athan came to pick up his bag, then I transferred the PSP game that he wanted to his PSP.. He should have reached home now.. Lol.

Anyway, both movies are really good.

Science Practical was madness. I was heating the experiment, and because I was required to test for carbon dioxide, I put the delivery tube end into the calcium hydroxide/limewater. Who knows, the limewater travelled INTO the thin tube and went into solid T, and reacted. Next thing I heard, prappppp. I was like, SHIT, MY TEST TUBE CRACKED!

Then I told the teacher, and I could see she was trying not to laugh. -.- Then I said never mind, I will pay the $0.40 later for the test tube. Guess what she said. "Oh, exam period no need to pay." HAHA!

Awesome experience lah.

I was supposed to have choir practice later, but my uncle said today don't have, take a break. YAY.

Alright, so I got an A2 with Distinction for Chinese.
My first reaction was, fck, why!?

And then after much thinking, I realised that God probably gave me an A2 so that I wouldn't slack and become complacent and all. Which is fair enough.

So I'm not retaking. Definitely not. I want the time to do self-study.

And to the retarded dude called Athan Leong, who tagged as my name, you damn lame siah. Seriously.

Had a rather long chat with Gideon just now. About who he likes, who I like, our Chinese results, blah blah.

Hello Jolene, it's nice meeting you. Hope to have a great three years with you starting next year. I'm so looking forward to it, are you??? [:

I never felt so relieved.
At 2pm, I logged in to the DPA Portal and the first words I saw were
MASS COMMUNICATION
Ngee Ann Polytechnic

And then I screamed and hi-fived my dad.

So it's confirmed.
I want to thank
Mr Dominic Tan- for always encouraging me and helping me proofread my application essay
Mrs Susanne Ng- for her encouragement and also helping to proofread, as well as the testimonial
Ms Serene Goh, Yen, Mrs Ganesan, Mr Lee, Ms Yee, Mdm Violet Ng- for the testimonials
Sarah and Sofia- for the never-ending encouragement, you guys owe me lunch now.
And all the other friends who have always encouraged me.

A really big thank you. [:

My goodness.
How could I have forgotten??
My parents, especially my mom- for helping me tidy my portfolio and ALWAYS SUPPORTING ME
GOD!!!!- for leading me in the correct direction

Zhiqi has also been offered by her choice, as well as Priscilla.. Congrats!
However, Shirlene and Ray were not offered their choice. Cheer up alright?

♥{Siying!} 2:40 PM

My gosh! Yusof Ishak Secondary first time participating in SYF can get Slver is like, my gosh.

LOL. "I recognise the logo on the box", turn out is KFC. Haha, then he went to bluff the poor recruit that he was from the Choir.

Ryan Higa is so cuteeeee.

♥{Siying!} 1:35 PM

LOL. Blogger, Hotmail, Facebook and Twitter are all okay again.
Except that Twitter needs a bit of refreshing now and then.

Alright. I'm currently trying to ease the anxiety I have in me. What's up? The Direct Polytechnic Admissions Exercise results are going to be released at 2 pm. I don't wish to be greedy, all I want is an offer from Ngee Ann's Mass Comm course. That will fully satisfy me. [:

So to distract myself, I will go search the very cute advert from Health Promotion Bord on Youtube.
Here it is:

"Anyway, got peanuts better than no peanuts!" HAHA.

Oh and I would like to announce one thing. I have patched back with Shirlene! I'm laughing over this because it sounds like the post Huiquan had when he got back with his Jamie. HAHA!

My uncle has this friend, Therese Jie-jie, who has this nephew, Jonathan. This zhuo-liao-deng gave me a hippo soft toy for Christmas in... 2002? Somewhere there. Anyway, I still have the hippo, which I called Blueberry. That's not the point. I found out on Facebook that he had a cameo role in the recent episode of Crimewatch. Although I watched both the English and Chinese versions, I forgot to look out for him. Today, I went to the Singapore Police Force website and downloaded the video. He's the one that the criminal guai-lan to. "Yes lah, my picture on I/C cannot see is it? Don't know how to read ah?" LOL.

Anyway, I miss that dude. Tsk. I still remember when I was in Primary school, he was only in secondary school. Now? Haiyo, becoming police liao wor.

I found this at Youtube too. Hilarious!

LOL. Now even Blogger Draft is screwed. Ughhhhhhhhh.

Lol. Today we ended at 9am cos POA paper was only one hour. Slacked at Macs for one hour, then went home.

So now I'm sitting here, bored cos there's nothing to do.
Plus, I have to be back at school by 2 for O Level English Oral. Which will also end soon cos I'm like, the third person on the list?

I've decided that I've had enough of some stuff. I will just ignore you. You can go act Ms Popular + bimbo for all I care. I'm just surprised the class girls are attracted to bimbos, but whatever. It's just another two months.

And for you, Athan Leong. Go. eat. shit.

Thanks Sarah and Sof.

Facebook and Hotmail are screwed too. Tsk.
Add Twitter to the list too! Oh wow.

First up, a video that appeals to me quite a bit.

Basically, it appeals because the boy is cute in the nerdy kind of way, and because he sort of reminds me of Athan when he was young. =X (He's so going to kill me if he sees this)

Secondly, I was talking to Eisen about my options after O Levels (as in, after the papers end), if I should intern or write for Youthink. And when I was checking out the SPH website, I found this really good paragraph:

Being a journalist is no ordinary job. It means working long hours when you are on the trail sniffing out a scoop. It means getting the door slammed in your face when newsmakers refuse to talk. It means encountering writer’s block when your mind refuses to conjure up the words that can tell your story. But it also means that you get to meet people from presidents to pig farmers. You become witness to events that move people or transform the course of history. It is a job that makes you humble as the frailties and strengths of human nature are brought home to you. Yet, it makes you proud to know that you have a key role, recording what people want or need to know.
It's not a wonder SPH produces quality newspapers.

And I found this too:

Tips on how to be a good journalist:
Have something to write about before you try writing it. If you can’t write it down, you don’t have an idea, let alone a story.
Tell your readers something new. That’s why they pay for the newspaper. Keep them in mind.
Write plain, simple English. Simple words are the most powerful. Remember, easy reading is really hard writing. If you can, make your words sing. If you can’t, at least make them clear.
Write so your reader will say, “I feel as though I have actually seen what you have described.”
Learn to edit your own copy. The easy part about writing is you don’t have to get it right the first time - unlike, say, in brain surgery. Besides, a good story does not need decoration.
Read every day - three, four books at a time and all the magazines you can lay your hands on. Read as much as you can of the best writers.
Feed your mind as you feed your body every day. Keep your mind open to new ideas and think.
Be obsessed with accuracy. It is paramount. If you don’t treat facts as sacred, you should be a fiction writer.
Learn your craft. As you learn, some grinding of the teeth is allowed, but not too much. No one puts a gun to your head and orders you to be a journalist.
Join us. All great journeys begin with the first step.

I officially announce that Blogger is screwed. Apparently because of some weird thingy on the internet.

Hmmph.

My prelim papers haven't been going on that well..
Oh no.

Next week is insane.

Mon 17 Aug- O Level EL Oral
Tues 18 Aug- DPA Results
Wed 19 Aug- O Level CL Results release

Ugh.

♥{Siying!} 5:40 PM

Monday, August 10, 2009

Oh man, tomorrow is the release of Chinese O Level Results and I'm so, so nervous!

God, I hope that Zhiqi, Jasmine and I will all make it to excel, so that we do not need to retake, then we can study together.. [:

I hope Sarah will also make it to pass.. [:

If there's only one thing I could ask from you now, God, it would be that A1, for myself and my friends who have worked equally hard. [and for Sarah, at least a C6]

It sucks to be in a dilemma, like if you get an A2 and unsure if you should retake..

So I just hope to get an A1.

Facebook's not on good terms woth me. It seems to have screwed up. Anyone else facing that problem?

♥{Siying!} 12:00 PM

Alright. I survived Day 1 of Prelims.

Yesterday was an amazing day to rebond my hair. Lol.
Smelly shampoo they use.

I like my straight fringe. [:

English Papers 1 and 2 were manageable. My composition looks quite good. (:

I'm quite happy now, because I'm going out tomorrow.
I think I've been celebrating National Day with him since Secondary 1. It's like an annual thing.

Watching G.I. Joe. Lol, don't know what exactly to expect.

Tomorrow's my last National Day with HIHS, quite disappointed that Choir is not performing, and there's First Friday Mass..
Never mind, I'd rather be with God, Sarah and Athan than.. err.. never mind. [:

Haven't been to Vivo in a long time, hopefully I can drag Athan along with me tomo.

Oh man,
11th Aug- Chinese 'O' Level results release
17th Aug- English 'O' Level Oral
18th Aug- DPA Results release
24th Aug- Visit to Singapore American School

I really need a lot of luck and God's guidance for this month,
with Prelims, plus I'm gunning for an A1 in Chinese,
AND I want that place in Ngee Ann's Mass Comm,
AND I need to do well for English which is inclusive of the upcoming Oral...

But I believe everything is planned by God,
the route that I take, the friends that I make..
All planned properly for me even before I was born.

And there are times when I feel self-conscious and pathetic, because I am anything but pretty.. However I remember that God is fair, he gave me a flair for writing and an excellent academic record.

Then you look at mentally or physically disabled people, and can't help but feel sympathetic for them.. They did nothing wrong, they do not deserve what they are suffering. And yet, they are just unfortunate, neglected by society because they cannot contribute.. Plus they have to remain dependent on people for the rest of their lives.

This also reminds me of the visit to Society of the Aged Sick earlier this year for CIP. There were so many elderly people there, lonely, neglected.. And I remember this particular aunty who was very scared, because the amplifier made loud noises when Louis and Gideon were setting up.. It was just so saddening, I nearly cried..

And it is reality that there are many other old folks' homes in Singapore. All the abandoned elderly people..

*applause*

my eyes are so tired. ugh.

♥{Siying!} 10:25 PM

blogger is back to its stupid old screwed up format.
it's temperamental.

today is a good good day, because I decided it was. [:

recess was retarded. someone mentioned hold your breath, and i was like, WHAAAAAAAAAAT? hold your breasts??? and then the topic revolved to cow udders, and then zhiqi said i had eight cow udders, and my milo was actually choc milk from my udders.. LOL! retarded.

went for lunch with sarah [and the OMG, attached!? huiquan]. wanted to eat subway, but i didn't have the monetary terms to do so. in the end, huiquan ate his takeaway subway with some people he found at macs, when i was buying my medium milo. [thank God]

so sarah accompanied me to kopitiam for lunch. after which, she decided to take the train. and then i convinced her to take circle line, cos I thought it would link to paya lebar.

who knows, when we saw the cirle line board at serangoon, it showed that the link to paya lebar was UNDER CONSTRUCTION. haha! so we took the train to bishan, changed to ang mo kio. read some magazines at amk ntuc, then bought some food and she went to take bus 76.

the golden village tickets from the ngee ann HYPER magazine competition arrived in the mail. seriously, i didn't expect to win anything from that. but oh well. free tickets!

who wanna watch a movie???

arrgh, eyebags i don't like you, go away! ]:

today zhiqi took my handphone pouch and opened the zip, and looked at my ezlink card, the one with the embarrassing primary 5 picture. and then she was laughing at it, although she already saw it before. then i think daphne saw from behind too, and it was super embarrassing lah!

and then zq passed it to jasmine. then jasmine lifted it a little, wanting to take a peek. who knows, MR SIM walks past from behind, and happened to see my photo too. and then he couldn't stop laughing. he was like, (laugh laugh laugh) "seriously, it's quite funny..."(laugh laugh laugh), then i was like so embarrassed..

LOL.

oh man, today there's a maths ws to complete, chinese, poa.. and f&n.
boo.

school was fine today, nothing interesting.
f&n conclusion was better than expected.
today, after like idk how many months, i finally got another article published.
thanks to eisen. [:

dpa interviews were alright.
singapore poly was three lecturers to three students, and prior to that we had a written test.
ngee ann poly was two lecturers to one student.

my only worry now is NP thinks SP will accept me, and rejects me.
and then SP thinks that NP will accept me, and rejects me too.

worries worries worries.
results on 18 aug.

arrgh, prelims i don't like you.
i seem to be on constant mood swings recently, i nearly fell out with sarah today.
then again, it was because i was smsing and couldn't think of a reply in time.

oh man. i need superglue. superglueeeeeeeeeee.

Describing myself in one paragraph
I'm a cam-whore freak who has a standard smile for photos. Think pearly teeth, wide grin.
I love journalism and cows.
That means I love expressing myself in words and dairy products.
Purple is my favourite colour.
Which means my eyes are specially focused to notice purple. I love dark purple.
Singing is my passion. Especially in the shower.
People say I have a lame sense of humour.
But I still like making people laugh.
I can be random at times.
For example, I can't draw for nuts.
I laugh at anything and everything.
*only applicable when I'm happy

I'm a perfectionist.
Oh, and I admit I'm a sensitive, stubborn and self-centered girl.
& I can be annoying at times too!
Hey, we all have flaws, alright.
Bitch about me, and you're dead.
I'll sit on you.
