I feel so pathetic.

Sometimes it's like I've been too nice, and people take advantage of me.
Like a certain someone who was, undoubtedly, rude to me on MSN just now.

And yet, when I feel upset,
I continue to be lame.
I realised why.

I want to make people laugh, so that people around me will be happy.

Have I been too much of a nice person?

Very nervous for tomorrow's interview..

Thank God! The call from Ngee Ann finally came.

A little irritated, because my house phone kept ringing the whole day. [mostly from my mom]
So thinking it was my mom, I picked up the phone and said hello?

And then the person on the line said "Hello, this is [I didn't really hear this part, cos my music was still blasting, and my house phone is really soft] from Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Then I was thinking, OMG. So I quickly paused my blog music.

And then she said I got shortlisted for an interview.

So yeah. That's about it.

I realised that when I'm unhappy,

Alright, I'm slacking at home now.
Got sent home at around 12+ cos I told my Chinese teacher that I had been coughing all day. Then my temperature was about 37.2?
Then she was like, must exercise social responsibility.
So here I am.

It's so embarrassing to wear the mask lah. Then people look at you. Eyer.
Sat outside the general office with Jasmine [who also got sent home cos her temperature was 37.7] while Mr Sim did all the admin stuff. Then Jasmine walked back home cos she lived just opp, while I had to walk out of school and get a taxi.

Waiting for my mom to come home, then can go visit the doctor. Sian, I'm going to miss a lot of lessons..

how come we never saw this performance?

Currently, the choir is learning "Te Queiro". This song means a lot to me, cos in 2007 at Hong Kong, I sang the female solo with one of my seniors. It was a performance at the University of Hong Kong chapel. This song is really really very nice. So I surfed youtube and found some vids of it..







the three vids are diff versions of "Te Queiro" at different speeds. it gives a diff feel.

Just when I thought life was horrible to it's maximum, Sarah's blogpost cheers me up..
the one talking about subway and me being retarded.
it's amazing how something small can make someone really happy.

Let me just share something about yesterday. During eng, Mrs Ng tripped on my bag. and she did this little skip thing to prevent herself from falling. unfortunately, some people saw what happened. and alex was like, mrs ng, you doing hip hop? give me a beat! then mrs ng was trying to ignore alex, so she went to the whiteboard, picked up the duster, just when the sponge part fell out. then i was trying to tell her that the duster had no sponge, but I was laughing too hard.. then the rest also saw, and they were like, mrs ng, no sponge! but she didn't hear. so when she tried to erase something from the board..., yeah you know what happened. i'm still laughing as i typed this.

Today, I didn't really have a good day.
My temp in the morning was 37.4. Brrr.
10 people were absent today.
And it was raining, and I only found out today that my Straits Times jacket had a hoodie. LOL.

Today was Athenium Day. Felt really sad to see all the Sec 4s outgoing.. That includes me too, though i'm just a kuching kurau in choir, as a sectional leader.

the past year as the alto SL has been enriching. i started out being unsure of myself, not sure how to do warmups, sectionals, mark attendance, etc. but with the help of Athan and the rest, I adapted. and now it's like, everything's gone, gone forever.. all that's left are memories. good ol' memories.

ss was boring. during maths, Ms Soh came in for observation. recess. poa was the same, dry as usual. chem was practical, quite fun.. then english was some oral thingy on exorcism.. lol.

After school, I went out with Athan for lunch. Then Shannon asked if I wanted to go to the new mall, ION Orchard. And so after lunch, Athan and I went to my house to put down our bags, then i changed. then we went to orchard.

ion orchard is hugeeeee.like, idkhowmanyfloorstherearebutit'sreallyhugekindahuge. got all kind of shops.

Today was horrible.
Sof got sent home early in the morning cos she wasn't feeling well.
8 people were absent.

Moving on.
Sarah says I should stop being lame, because it's embarrassing.
But I don't get it, I'm not me if I don't be lame.
Besides, being lame makes me think.
And for some reason, I like to make people laugh.

I hate it when people are upset, or disappointed, angry, miserable, agitated and all.
I hate it when people die.
I remember how much I hated the time my Grandma passed away. It makes me so sad.
Although I'm not that close to her, it was upsetting to see her leave.

But on the bright side, I hope she's reunited with my grandpa. Wherever they are now.

I miss you, Grandma.

Oh and by the way, Nanyang Poly has also started calling shortlisted applicants. Arrgh!

Today, school was fine. Ended at 11.45 because we had to report at 2 for CL O Level Listening Comp.
So nice of the school to release us early.
Wanted to go for lunch with Athan, but his dad fetched him to Bedok for lunch. Lol.
In the end, I ate lunch with Fiona, Ondrea, Winnie and HQ at Kopitiam.

CL Listening Comp was alright, but very tricky. Sigh.
And SEAB is so cute, they used FM 92.4 to broadcast the passage to ensure accuracy.
So prior to the exam, we were treated to classical songs. So relaxing.

After which, I chiong-ed to Music Room for Choir Elections. Then the Sec 4s went outside to decide who gets what post. After many rounds of voting and re-voting, we finally settled on our "descendants". LOL, machiam we dying like that siah. However, I'm not going to post any of the results here.. You'll just have to wait until Friday. Went to mall with Athan afterwards, slacked for two hours plus? Then went home.

Still no email/call from Ngee Ann.. So anxious lah.

Tired.

I heard Temasek Polytechnic has started contacting their shortlisted applicants for DPA.
This is confirmed by Zhiqi, whose interview is this Thursday,
as well as Vivienne, whose interview is this Friday.

Today, I stayed back in school for the Programme for International Students Assessment (PISA). The whole thing took about 3hrs plus? We had to complete a 54-page question booklet with a combination of Reading, Mathematics and Science. The questions asked ranged from ACNE to population graphs, to chair lifts... and even some map thingy. It's crazy.

It kinda reminded me of the Gifted Programme I sat for back in Primary School.

Then we had to complete a questionnaire about ourselves, our family and home, education career, blah blah blah.

After which, I went to art room, then Athan came out and we went to Hougang Mall to slack.
Then I came home to chiong homework. Zzz.

Listening Compre 'O' Level tomorrow. Counting on it to get my A1.
Tmrw is also Choir election, confirm have Sec 4 meeting de. hmmm.

Just realised I've been doing a lot of crying recently. And I think I know why. Our group has split. I'm almost becoming a loner again, except that Sofia is still my friend. I really cannot tolerate this any longer. Just because Sofia has her shortcomings, all of you decide to go poof. Then where am I supposed to go? And then you tell me she treats me like a sparetire. But at least she recognises my existence. Maybe I should just focus on my studies, and rely on Athan and Shannon and Sofia huh. Yeah, although they're an ass, it's better than this. Great, I'm writing this on your birthday. Forget it, I shall relive my lower Secondary days.

Alright, I'm finally back from Confirmation mass + a long dinner.

Firstly, thanks to Shannon and Athan for taking the time to come. [:

Reached church around 12, went to 3rd floor to put down our stuff, then headed to St Mary's Room. Had praise & worship, then it got to a really emo song and I started tearing..
Then they played Five Loaves and Two Fishes, and I really liked the sentence "every single tear I cry is a diamond in his hands".

Then I started crying full-on, thinking about my current situation and all. Why I am so judgmental and self-centered. And I realised I was actually feeling very broken from my current broken friendships.. And then they gave us paper and writing materials, asking us to write down our strengths, weaknesses, talents.. (which was later offered up during mass).

After that, we were asked to fold this paper up and put it in a basket. After that, we would head to a catechist who would pray with us. So I went to Paul. It's really comforting to talk to him. [:

Then we had a bit more p&w, then it was time to change! We also had a pao to eat, and a packet drink. LOL. By 4+, we were ready. More p&w. Then it was 5pm!

At 5.15, we went down to outside the bookshop to line up. Then around 5.30, we had our procession into church. The Archbishop is quite friendly.

I remember in Secondary 2 when Mrs Tay taught us this song on recorder for Music, and I didn't really like this song cos I didn't know it..

Hmmm.
Rather busy recently,
with POA test on Thursday,
just finished my F&N Coursework A on Monday and Coursework B is killing me,
a lot of homework,
school doesn't finish until around 4+ because of afternoon programme..

I applied for DPA on 8th July, and here are my three choices:
Ngee Ann Poly- Mass Comm (N67)
Singapore Poly- Media and Comm (S86)
Nanyang Poly- Media Studies and Management (C93)

Went to Ngee Ann Poly on 10th July for the Poly Experience thing with Sarah, Sof and Shir.
The media facilities in NP are so AWESOME! They invested about $40 mil in total.. Whoa.

Coursework B planning on 11th July, had to be in school super early. I think I did okay..
After Chem remedial, met Athan & went to Hg Mall for lunch. Then to my house.
Erh, he used the comp while I was at home tuition, then after that, I forgot to transfer the stuff to his thumbdrive. Epic fail.

This Saturday is my Confirmation.

Today,
I was feeling unwell and drained,
but still came to school.
First temperature taking was 37.3.
Pffft.

Slept for about 15 mins in F&N,
couldn't take it anymore.
Plus my ear infection irritates me.

Wanted to wait for Athan after afternoon prog,
but he was ending late and Sarah was already out.
So I walked with Sarah to the bus stop and went home.

This post is going to be all, or mostly, about Direct Polytechnic Admission 2009.

The DPA application portal will open from 8 July, 2 pm to 13 July, 4 pm.

Last year, 4,558 students applied for direct admission into the polytechnics, but only 607 were offered places during last year’s exercise, and 535 applicants (about 88%) accepted the offers.

It's going to be so tough!

Plus,

The five polytechnics – Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic – will each admit up to 2.5% of their Academic Year 2010 intake through DPA, or about 100 students per polytechnic on average. There will also be a course-specific cap of 30% for each polytechnic course under the DPA. This is to ensure that students admitted through the GCE ‘O’-Level route will continue to have access to popular polytechnic courses.

This means that if Ngee Ann's Diploma in Mass Communication (N67) has a total number of, let's say, 20 students each year,
they will only accept 6 students through DPA.
